General Description
A9101 is a low cost Sub-1GHz ISM voice SOC. In the RF part, this device integrates both high sensitivity receiver and a programmable power amplifier. Based on Data Rate Register, user can configure on-air data rates to either 500Kbps ~ 2Mbps. In the digital part, it integrates high speed pipeline 8051 MCU, 16 KB In-system programmable flash memory, 256Bytes internal SRAM, 512Bytes external SRAM and various powerful functions.
A9101 supports fast PLL settling time for frequency hopping system. For packet handling, A9101 has built-in separated (128 bytes) TX/RX FIFO for data buffering and burst transmission, auto-ack and auto-resend, CRC for error packet filtering, FEC (7,4 hamming code) for 1-bit data correction per code word, RSSI for clear channel assessment, thermal sensor to monitor relative temperature, WOR (Wake on RX) function to support periodically wake up from sleep mode to RX mode and listen for incoming packets without MCU interaction, data whitening for data encryption / decryption. Those functions are very easy to use while developing a wireless system.
